Our Retreat Home, Revealed
One of the most exciting parts of planning our Painted Island Retreat is watching every detail come together, and today we're thrilled to share something we've been eagerly waiting to share!
Las Lagunas Boutique Hotel has officially unveiled its newly renovated spaces, and the first photos are absolutely breathtaking.
Nestled among the rainforest on the shores of Quexil Lagoon in Flores, Guatemala, Las Lagunas has long been known for its peaceful setting, luxury accommodations, and intimate boutique atmosphere. The recent renovation brings a fresh, contemporary feel while honoring the natural beauty that makes the property so unique.
As we browsed the new images, one thing stood out immediately: the hotel hasn't lost its connection to nature. Instead, the redesign seems to embrace it. Warm wood tones, handcrafted lighting, sculptural furnishings, soft neutral finishes, and expansive views of the surrounding jungle create spaces that feel sophisticated without losing their sense of calm.
The guest suites continue to showcase the property's signature blend of comfort and privacy, with generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, private terraces, and lagoon views that invite you to slow down and unplug. Throughout the main lodge, beautifully refreshed gathering spaces offer the perfect setting to enjoy breakfast before a day of exploring, unwind after an excursion, or simply relax with a delicious cup of Guatemalan coffee.
Beyond the beautifully updated interiors, the surrounding property remains just as captivating. Rainforest pathways, lush tropical landscaping, a stunning infinity pool overlooking the lagoon, and peaceful waterfront spaces remind guests that nature is at the heart of the Las Lagunas experience.
We're incredibly excited to share these first photos with everyone joining us for the Painted Island Retreat. Seeing the transformation makes us even more excited for what's ahead, and we hope these images help you begin imagining yourselves here.
